I have been considering saving my money in a bank, but many banks are not open at weekends. It’s very different from that in China, where every bank is open at weekends and even on holidays. On Monday and Tuesday, I was busy with meeting lots of people. And then on Wednesday, January 13, I was free, so I went to TD Canada Trust. But I had a problem. The financial manager was a giant and I had to look up to speak to him. Hey, this was not the key problem. The key problem was that I didn’t have two ID documents to have an account. They could be a passport, a work permit, a student ID card, a Canadian driving license, or a Visa Card with a bank of Canada etc.. But I had only one---my passport. I showed him a Visa card with Bank of China. But he told me that was not acceptable. So, I had to leave disappointed. But I didn’t want to give up. I didn’t believe that I had no way to save my money.

Then I entered Bank of Montreal, which was less than 5 minutes’ walk from TD Canada Trust. There I met a young and handsome financial services manager. And …. guess what? He was from Hong Kong. Although he couldn’t speak Mandarin, and we communicated in English, I was happy to meet a person from China. He told me that my Visa Card with Bank of China was acceptable. He was very warmhearted and helped me choose a suitable plan for me. Then I got my Primary Chequing account with the Practical Plan. I made it! It was like an adventure, wasn’t it?
